Established as a ranching community, Tatum is conveniently located at the crossroads of New Mexico highways 380 and 206 in northern Lea County. Recently, the town of Tatum refurbished several of the city’s buildings and is preparing for the future expansion of their community.

Education is the backbone of a healthy workforce!
Home of the Tatum Coyotes, Tatum Municipal Schools is comprised of Tatum Elementary, Tatum Junior High School, and Tatum High School. Tatum schools received some of the highest school district grades in the State of New Mexico with Tatum Elementary receiving an “A” grade, Tatum JH a “B”, and Tatum HS an “A”.
In addition to great district grades, Tatum has also invested in community upgrades including revamping the local parks and fields for everyone to enjoy.
