A small contingent of dedicated business leaders braved near-freezing temperatures Thursday morning for an outdoor ribbon-cutting at Zia Stor-All.

The storage business at 4128 N. Grimes St. is now offering outdoor covered and uncovered storage.

“We have 48 12-by-45 (foot) slots, and we have 14 12-by-35 slots, and 28 uncovered parking,” said store manager Diana Sartain. “As with all of our storage, it’s just month to month.”

Sartain said the outdoor storage service started about two months ago with recreational vehicles in mind.

“We were working on it for almost a year,” she said. “But we opened about two months ago for just some limited parking.”

Sartain said Zia Stor-All has about 37 sizes of enclosed storage units, ranging from 4-by-5 feet to 12-by-40 feet. In total, the sprawling business has 601 enclosed storage units.

“We have a couple of warehouses,” she said. “We are installing electricity to have the floodlights and the lights come on at dark. The rest of the property already has exterior lighting at night that stays on all night, so it’s never dark out here. And it is gated and the only entry is through this front gate by the office.”

The business is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Customers have 24/7 access to their storage units.

“Come visit,” said Sartain, who has one part-time employee, assistant manager Vicky Hulsey. “We’d be happy to show you anything.”
